At the course type level, it is possible to define whether the date from which learners can re-enrol for the same course needs to be set manually or the period during which learners will need to re-enrol in the already completed course. Depending on the settings, further settings will be made at the course template level. It is also possible to specify in more detail whether the enrolment needs to be completed before or after the beginning or end of the course. The corresponding data will be calculated or manually entered in the course.

Update description

10134

Update description

strOH11227

This option enables the course/learning path description in the participant"s learning area to be updated. If changes to the template need to be copied, the version of the template needs to be released. In general, only the values of the meta tags are updated, which have the "Automatic update" checkbox checked in the template. If no value for a meta tag is recorded in the template, the field is not updated. For multilingual objects, only the description fields, which are available in the same languages in the template and in the course/learning path, are updated. In order for an update to be possible, the start date for the course/learning path must not yet have been reached or no learner must have commenced the training; otherwise the changes must be manually triggered using the "Update course" workflow.

Check box

x

strOH11226

This setting enables the content in the library of a course to be automatically updated if the template from which it is derived is published to a new version and library content has changed. When the "Update library" checkbox in the "Description" tab is ticked the entire contents of the library will update and not just the contents that have the "Update" checkbox ticked which actually checks for version updates of media individually. In order for an automatic update to occur, the start date for the course must not yet have been reached or no learner must have commenced the training; otherwise the changes must be manually triggered using the "Update course" workflow.

strOH11199

Course instances can be viewed directly via their course template in the catalogue or within learning paths when the course template has been assigned. This setting is beneficial especially for date dependent training courses where there are multiple deliveries at different times and locations. With this setting enabled, it is only required to assigned the course template to the catalogue or learning path as all available course instances will automatically display and then disappear in line with the "Display in catalogue until" date or planning status.

x

x

Allow multiple enrolments

10140

Defines if batch enrolments for multiple courses of the same template are allowed. Disabling this setting can be used in order to prevent that planned capacities are blocked by few participants.

strOH11209

A course template can be used to create several course instances. This setting determines if learners will be permitted to register for several course instances derived from the same course template; if desired this checkbox must be ticked. Registration to multiple courses of the same course template by the learner is possible when the learner has existing statuses of either "Registered", "Reserved on participant list", "Started", "Completed" or "Finished"; E.g. if there is a pending "Requested" status awaiting approval then self-enrolment will not be possible.
