Creation of new LTI 1.1 media type
Note
Tick the boxes “Share name of the user , share e-mail address of the user” depending on the provider. If you want to get grades for tests administered in courses / monitor the progress of the learner then “Accept grades, points of external LTI content provider” should also be ticked.
The option Accept “grades/points” from LTI provider determines, whether results (notes/points), which the provider possibly sends after using the tool, should be accepted by imc Learning Suite. This requires that the LTI tools supports LTI v1.1. Please clarify with your tool provider if grades are send or not.
The option “Mastery score” specifies the score in percentage to trigger the status of the user for the medium. If the user's score is greater than or equal to the specified value, then the status will be set to "passed", otherwise it will be set to "failed". This requires “Accept grades/points from LTI provider” to be enabled.
In order to receive grades from a provider, the imc Learning Suite must be reachable from the provider, i.e. an imc Learning Suite with an internal IP cannot be reached by an external provider.
imc Learning Suite cannot determine whether a LTI tools does support LTI v1.1 and sending grades or not. Hence the LTI v1.1 options are always available. It is the content administrators responsibility to check whether it is meaningful to enable the “Accept grades/points from LTI provider” option.
