3rd-Party Content Media
Generic Content Import
To start the content import, navigate to the “Media manager”, click the "Create" option from the toolbar, and select "Import 3rd-Party Content".

In the next step, choose the desired Media Type created before. The list will display all available options you created; if you have multiple connector licenses and “External Service Provider”, multiple of them are listed.

The' Import Wizard' opens by selecting the desired media type, as seen in the example for the provider Pluralsight. See the steps below on how to import 3rd party content to the imc Learning Suite media manager.
Import Wizard

The search results will be displayed automatically.
The search bar only displays languages provided by the service provider. The media type should be set up according to the selected search language.
The checkboxes allow you to select items for an import. To select multiple items, repeat this process with different search terms.
All selected items are listed in the "Selected contents" tab and can be removed from the list.
To start the import, clicking on "Import selected content" from either the "Content search" or "Selected content" tab begins the process.
The progress of the import can be tracked to see if the content was initially imported or updated via the chips. Meanwhile, the status of imports is displayed as “pending.”

Once the import is complete, the tab can be closed. As seen in the screenshot below, all imported objects are listed at the top of the list in the media manager.

Bulk Import
The feature allows a full import of all third-party content provided by the provider, saving time during the initial import and for subsequent updates by reducing the need to manually select content on each page. To start the bulk import process, click “add all content” and follow the process described in the models.
Confirm the bulk import before starting the process
Confirm to stop the process
Stopp message listing the actual status of the import until then
Success message after the import is done
Error message if the process stops because of external reasons

Notes
Please note that all available items are added to the media library in the selected languages, and the content search and filter results are not applicable during the import. These features work only if specific items are selected and imported via the "add selected content" option.
Only one bulk import can be initiated at a time across all available providers.
While an ongoing import process, the screen is locked until it is complete.
If a bulk import fails or is halted, the items imported until the "stop" will be visible in the media manager and updated in the following bulk process.
Update Handling
It is noted that 3rd-party content, which learners consume remotely on the provider platform, remains consistently up to date. Additionally, it is stated that the imc Learning Suite retrieves the metadata of any third-party media object, which is showcased in the media manager after being imported.
There are two identified methods for updating the metadata of third-party media:
The media can be reimported via the import interface. After reimportation, an "updated" chip will appear on the tile, creating a new version in the media manager.
A Scheduled Job may be configured to periodically check and refresh the metadata for all content representations available in the imc Learning Suite.
It is also highlighted that changes made on the provider site are uncommon. If a course is to be removed, users will mostly receive a notification a few months prior on the provider site. The media object in the imc Learning Suite will continue to exist, but the corresponding URL will lead to a dead link.
