Configuration Manager - Course/Learning Path
In the "Course/Learning path" menu settings can be defined for default start dates, time zones (in case meta tag not added to course types), full course preview enabling, and defining attendance tracking limits (media and participants to display).
Description
Setting | What does the setting do? |

Start time minutes | Specifies the minutes to be preselected. |
Start time hours | Specifies the number of hours to be preselected. |
Start days to add | Indicates the number of days which are to be added to the current date. |
Default time period | Standard time zone for users who have not defined any of their own settings. |
Display time zone | Used to indicate whether the timezone information - e.g. Central European Time (CET) (UTC+01:00) will be displayed for booking mails and appointments. |
Meta tag values cleared during course template duplication | A list of meta tag IDs can be provided here, for meta tags that should not keep their value when a course template is duplicated. This will impact meta tags displayed on the Course details tab of the Course template and will only affect the meta tags that are editable or mandatory, to ensure that data that must be changed from one template to another is not forgotten. |
Use resource name as location at iCal invitations (for courses and events) | |
Allow changing course template of course | Determines if the course template for existing courses can be changed in the “Course” manager. Ticked/true means the "Change template" function will be shown. Unticked/false means the "Change template" function will not be available for use. |
Tutoring: Enable submission export | Defines the visibility of the button "submission export" in the course instruction, the buttons allows download of submitted test for the selected user. |
Tutoring: Show cancellation fee for tutor | If ticked this setting shows the cancellation fee information data in the Enrolment information audit. |
Media type | Media type that should be used when creating a new user specific course specific media. |
What’s New | If the setting is ticked (Activated), new components added to a course after the learner enrolment will be displayed in the course room with the tag "New". |
Active days | Number of days new items will be flagged as “New” until they are opened. |

Course duration start | Determines the date as of which the course’s duration of use will commence, if the release mode is “Duration of use”. There is a choice between two options: Either beginning the duration of use on the day the participant starts the course, or on the day he is registered on the course. |
Show external courses | When ticked external courses that are requested and/or recorded by learners will be displayed in the “Admin > Content > Course administration > Courses” function where administrators will be able to edit to make changes. |
Seat allocation import separator | Indicates the character string for the field separation in the rows of a CSV file. The character string TAB indentifies the tab character. |
Learning paths
Setting | What does the setting do? |

Deactivate “Available Courses” button (For non-Supervisors) | Course templates will be shown in learning paths only, if no course derived from the course template in booked for the participant. If a course is booked this course is shown instead of the course template. Still the participant has access to the course template via an “Alternative courses” button. This setting enables or disables the “Alternative courses” button. |
Automatic Course Booking | This setting defines the default for automatic booking for courses on the learning path syllabus along with the automatic booking of the learning path respectively. When ticking the checkbox in the "Automatic enrolment" column on the tab “Curriculum” it must be noted that users are only enrolled to courses where prerequisites are fulfilled; even if learning logic is set, the booking is nevertheless carried out. |
Location list
This function allows defining the information displayed when the variable ‘$course_locality_list$’ is used in course notification and enrolment messages.
The message variables must be entered between variable $resource_begin$ to $resource_end$ and $service_startdate$ to $service_end$ with a line break represented by $newLine$.
The message can contain the following variables:
